What is Modulator Records?
Modulator Records is an independent record label based in London, UK. We are specialized in electronic music with a dark futuristic mood. Launched in 2017. We use a digital distribution partner (DistroKid) to put your music into online stores & streaming services.
Which stores will my music be available for sale on?
We send your music to the most important digital retailers including Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, Deezer, Tidal, Napster Music and more.
How long does it take to get my music available on the stores?
It can take 1-2 business days for albums to be reviewed, approved, and sent to stores. After that between 2 and 3 days depending on the store.
If I Specify a Custom Release Date, When Will My Album Appear in Stores?
If you've set a custom release date, your music will appear in stores on the date you specified. If it's important that your music goes live on a specific date (in all chosen stores at the same time), choose a release date at least four weeks in the future. If you choose a release date less than four weeks in advance, there's a chance your album could still be stuck in a stores' review queue (or some other unforeseen delay) when your release date comes around.
Is my contract with Modulator Records exclusive?
No. It is a non exclusive agreement. You are free to work with other labels or to release music on your own.
If I sign with Modulator Records do I still own my music?
Modulator Records does not take any ownership or intellectual property rights from artists. You keep 100% ownership. You always own your music. Your rights and the ownership of your copyright is not affected. Your contract with Modulator Records will just give us permission to distribute and sell your music on your behalf, for the duration of the contract.
Do I need to have my own ISRC and EAN / UPC numbers?
No, you do not need to provide UPC or ISRC codes. An ISRC code is a unique code assigned to each song you upload. Our aggregator will automatically generate new ISRC and UPC codes and associate them with every song and album you upload. It's free and automatic and you don't have to worry about it.
